Cervical Disorders

Cervical disorders include infections, cervical inflammation (cervicitis), cervical polyps, precancerous changes, and cervical cancer. Many conditions are caused by infections, including Human Papillomavirus (HPV), while others may result from hormonal or inflammatory changes.

Symptoms may include abnormal vaginal discharge, bleeding after intercourse, irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, or no symptoms at all. Regular cervical screening is essential for early detection.

Diagnosis may involve pelvic examination, Pap smear, HPV testing, colposcopy, biopsy, and imaging when indicated. Treatment depends on the underlying condition and may range from medications to minimally invasive procedures for precancerous lesions.
